so i started a new minibike i decided to make it front suspension only because i dont really have time to make a dual right now even though i though of a really good design. i will make it later on. anyways i wanted this thing to be relatively light and very strong with big wheels and lots of power so i could ride through snow and mud and go up big hill with now problems. the rear wheel is from a snow blower and the front is from a wheel barrel, the tire is a slick but i will replace it as soon as i can. the engine is a honda g200 5hp which hopefully will run good and wont be too loud. today i sorta made the frame its not completely done mostly tacked together but is all alinghed. i will be using a jack shaft so i have 2 small chains and avoid the chains falling off and breaking. as for brakes i got a caliper so i can use the sproket as a brake but after making the frame i discovered that there is no space for it so i will have to think of a way of putting a brake on i will maybe use a band brake.
the fork on there is from a bicycle which needs alot of modding to work its on there just for show and so i can see how it will look.
sorry for the bad quality it was taken with my phone i will take better pictures tomorow or after i get some more work done. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?" Irish midget from family guy. |

more pictures as promised. i redid the downtube today so it fits better against the head tube, made a motor mount and welded some jackshaft studs on to mount it. i also did some more welding on the frame so it doesnt warp and i trimmed the rear tubes. all i gotta do now is make a fork of somekind and get a spacer for the backwheel and mount the brake caliper. after that fabricating will mostly be done and i will be able to ride it. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?" That looks like it will be alot of fun
What ratio will you be running?
That frame looks mighty strong |

dont really know but the engine has a 12 tooth to 18 on the jackshaft then 16 tooth to 60tooth on the rear wheel. this is one of the reasons i made a jackshaft so i can change ratios easily. anothe rreason is i will have 2 short chains so they never fall off the sprokets and there is a smaller chance of them breaking. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?" | Nice, but look up 'Parralell line development' for your next project, it will help you propley make the template to cut the goose neck part out. |

so its been a long ass time since i put together whatever is in the pictures. but now its summer and there seems to be alot of rain coming down on my days off so im thinking about this minibike. so far i got a flange made to mount an exhaust on the engine and got some new oil so it should run now since its brand new. also figured out brakes, im going to use a pocketbike caliper and a small sproket as a disk and mount this on the jackshaft. i didnt want to do this but i have no choice. the only thing i lose is that i wont do any skids to keep the chain from breaking but it should stop quick anyway. if chain breaking becomes a problem i will get some sort of high performance go kart chain, if they can handle like 60 hp then they can handle whatever im going to put it through. also im trying to get some metal plates to make the fork out of a crappy walmart bike fork. this fork is bigger then usual though and it will be shortened to put less stress on it. also finishing up some small stuff like bolting the engine down and making some spacers for it because of a little design flaw and just finishing up the rear wheel by making a spacer to hold the wheel in place on the axle. so hopefully it will be done very soon, before summer ends for sure. i cant wait to ride it through lots of mud and snow. oh and i will take pictures of everything as soon as i have something to show. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?" woo i finally finished it
so it has a disk brake on the jackshaft because that was the only place i could put it. the ratio is 6.25:1 which gives it really nice acceleration and a decent top speed. ive been riding it for a couple of days now and all seems solid so hopefully it will last and bring me many good times. one thing i will add to it though is some fenders. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?" That is awsome! Looks like it should be a bulletproof machine.
I love the downhill shocks on the front
How many cc is that engine? It must have a ton of torque! |

the engine is 194cc, and my new engine is 144cc.
so i rode this thing for like a week with quite a couple long rides and the motor broke and my ass hurt too much. so i tried to fix the motor and replaced the points and condenser with an electronic unit because there was no spark and it still didnt work and now i cant take the flywheel off too look at it again. but today i got 2 motors honda g150 which is the exact same thing but 3.5 hp instead of 5. one runs and the other is seized but is really clean and will be good for parts. so im going to try to fix the 5hp and make it really fast with porting and keep the 3.5 hp as is so i always have something that works.
as for performance it was pretty fast around 60km/h and had pretty good power but the clutch let me down it slipped way too much, going up hill from a dead stop it would just slip. the hardtail frame hurt my ass way too much i rode on some rough stuff because thats the only place i have to ride basically. but other then those things it was really fun i always had power when i needed it and nothing really fell apart. the fork is really crappy and is from some crappy walmart bike. it works for big impacts but for smaller bumps its not too good.
so this frame is out of commision now, i started on a new one which should be lighter then this frame and with dual suspension. also it will have alittle different seating position to make it more comfortable and less cramped. so it should be done very soon like next week. here is a sneak peak at it.
and here is the minibike my buddy has, i dont know what model it is but its pretty good.

here is some pics of what i did today, mostly bein really lazy and made some of the swing arm. it pivots on 2 bearings each side and is really solid with no slop at all. i ordered a wheel and some bearings last week so hopefully that comes in soon so i can finish the rear end and set the rear shock angle and all that stuff. after that all i gotta do is weld on a steertube and add reinforcements to everything. so i am hoping to ride this next week.
here is what it will look like with the motor and gas tank

here is my bike now. i cut the headtube off and welded one from a honda ct70 on as well as put a honda ct70 fork on it. the bike handles well and rides really well now. im still looking for honda ct70 folding bars but im too cheap to pay like 50 dollars plus shipping for them so im using bars and top crown from a honda z50r for the time. its kinda fast and handles the bumps well. _________________ " ... big whoop you wanna fight about it?"
